HAPPY MONDAY!
So, this week was so so so exciting because I got to welcome Martha Madison, a star of Days of Our Lives and AMDA Alumni!
This episode delves deep into what is going on in Hollywood right now, especially as we start to move in a positive direction of shooting TV shows and movies again. And yes, she is getting tested THREE times a week.
Martha shares her stories of being a child performer and going to college prior to moving to New York City to follow her dreams of becoming a performer, which she wanted to be a dancer! After auditioning for multiple dance teams, including the Rockettes, she shares that she moved to LA to begin her career in TV/Film.
I was able to ask her some questions regarding the industry and she gracefully gave her best answers, and something that really stuck with me was actually something that she learned from being at AMDA.
Acting - having the inner storm and outer chaos. I know, personally, I struggle a lot with “showing” and telling the audience more than I should. After she said this phrase, I have thought about it everyday this week, concentrating on keeping the inner storm kicking, while staying still throughout a scene/song.
This episode is so special to me, and I hope you enjoy the lovely conversation that we had. AND don’t forget to check out her and AJ’s podcast While We Were Waiting that I made a little cameo on! They tell stories about their time in the restaurant business, and I have to say, there are so many hilarious stories to be told.
I’m happy to have made two new friends through this process.
THANK YOU MARTHA AND AJ FOR BEING SO WELCOMING!
As always,
Namaste motherf*ckers <3
