Happy. Freaking. Monday.
So, I have spent the last week going back and forth from home to work, trying to juggle a full-time job as well as a full-time online student schedule. Needless to say, I have been stretched pretty think this week.
Anyways, in this week’s episode I got to talk about what it feels like to screw up in front of your new classmates and teacher. Because, yes, that happened to me this week. I spent the better part of a day memorizing this monologue from Hamlet by Shakespeare, and right when I got called on to do it, I CHOKED. CHOKED.
I felt like a failure. And to add to that, it was the first time that I had an assignment from a new instructor. So, I used this episode to talk about how I am able to deal with negative thoughts and f*cking up in front of people I’d rather try to impress.
I also made a point to talk about how I have felt during this uncertain time in regards to my education and what I think about the continuation online. I honestly believe that many are making a mistake of reopening for the fall semester. As much as I am dying to go back to in-person classes, I also know that safety is the number one priority and that the safety of ALL students AND staff should be taken into account before any large education institution is opened. Period.
ALSO, can we talk about the album of the week?? Plot twist: it isn’t an Original Broadway Cast album! It’s actually a pop album by Quinn XCII and it will change your life if you’re into pop-indie music. I’ve been obsessed all week, and I think it would be a good addition to anyone’s playlist. BUT ALSO TAYLOR SWIFT DROPPED A NEW ALBUM??!?!?!??!! Folklore is so special and she is a poet of dreams. I’m in love.
Have a listen. Do something fun. Have a great week.
Peace out motherf*ckers
