This week was a bit short just because I took a break from all things normal life! HOWEVER, with this episode I decided to talk about something that is basically breaking streaming records: the release of HAMILTON.
So, I had been super super excited to finally get to see Hamilton (even if it is filmed and not live) and I wasn’t disappointed. I had been watching it in broken pieces here and there when it was first released but didn’t get to fully watch it until last week (I know, it’s basically a sin in the theatre world).
In this episode, I talk about my initial questions regarding the show. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is PHENOMENAL and that Lin-Manuel Miranda is a pure musical genius. However, I was drawn to the fact that filmed shows will continue to pop up and, to me, I feel as though is could take away from the live theatre effect. I completely agree that live theatre should be more accessible, however, I go over in the episode how I think that we could do this, without hurting the industry.
Something I’d like to go back over in a future episode is some of the characterizations that I touch on just barely: Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson, Laurens, Phillip Hamilton, and Eliza. I would love to break down a lot of these characters, but for the interest of the show, I think I’m going to keep my thoughts to myself and release another episode regarding what I truly think. I touch on them with my initial reactions in this episode but there is so so so much more to these characters and what they go through. Truth be told, I’d really just love to gather my thoughts more formally and then discuss!
There is also a mention of the Twilight Saga, which I have grown to love again. Over vacation, I watched four out of the five (excluding the first one because we couldn’t find it). Honestly, it reminded me of a simpler time and I loved being able to remember how much I was obsessed with this movies. It was like a walk down memory lane!
To conclude this episode, I touched on a blog post that I’d been working on about having a reason to take a vacation! To see more click here——————> https://www.frankiemarrs.com/yankeedoodlefrankieblog/10-reasons-to-take-a-vacation?fbclid=IwAR08ip8gwoC0g6Qsm8n-0l2sJypRUD7NpgoaDmwwg2afIWLyWgyUTnJaS-Q
